![]() In February 2000, Hand left Y107 to join start up Music Netcaster. The Small Kicks with Mike “Onion” Wright Brady In 1999, Hand and some friends started up the band HUMMMR Hand continued to push the radio scene with show segments "Spandex Nation", "Locals Only", "The Menage-A-Ska", "The People's Choice", "The 9 O'Clock News", "Valley Of The Lost 80's", and the hour long electronica show "Y107 Liphted" which featured such artists as Friction & Spice, U-Ziq, Crystal Method, Swedish Egil, Gearwhore, Christopher Lawrence, and many others performing live on air. On Southern California’s Modern Rock Y107, Hand, still known as “Chase”, was again on-air doing the nighttime shift. Hand saw an opportunity to work there and was on-air during the overnight DJ slot using the name “Chase.” Being promoted to afternoon drive after a few months, Hand began to work with Mike Savage on groundbreaking electronica show, “X107 Hardhouse.” When the WRGX changed format in 1996 to country, Hand transferred across the country to sister station Y107 (KLYY) in Los Angeles. He was responsible for bringing in acts Fact to Face, Goo Goo Dolls, The Bogmen, and Soul Coughing, to name a few.ħ Willow Street was used as a venue by modern rock radio station X107 (WRGX) out of Westchester, NY. Having known Fred Jenkins for years, Hand was offered the assistant manager/talent booker for 7 Willow Street, a club in Port Chester, NY after he left Gee Street Records. Given the moniker of MC Skullcap, he performed with The Gravediggaz in place of RZA on part of their European tour. In 1993, he went on to become the stage manager for The Gravediggaz while they toured together with public enemy, Gangstarr, Ice Cube and others. Started work with British hip-hop Label, Gee Street Records, as an A&R (artists & repertoire) assistant. His official title was drum technician although he was originally hired as a lighting tech. Dawn part as of the World of Music, Arts and Dance (WOMAD) Festival with Peter Gabriel headlining. Upon graduation from Purchase State University, Hand was offered a job to tour with P.M. Hand graduated in 1993 with a Bachelor’s degree in Liberal Arts concentrating in English Literature. While there, Hand was instrumental in revamping its college radio station, WPUR (now WPSR). Hand attended State University of New York at Purchase (Purchase State College). He attended Port Jefferson High School and graduated 1987. In 1983, his family moved to Port Jefferson, Long Island, New York. In 1976, the family moved back to the UK and lived in London. In 1970, his family moved to Botswana, Africa.
